Tourism Safety Monitors… Get Involved

We can safely agree that the Tourism Safety Monitors have been very successful at certain sites, but mostly they were not utilized at all.  We would like to think this is a diamond in the rough and would like to assist the project to deploy them correctly, manage them correctly and    provide them with proper and appropriate training.  They usually receive guiding   training alone which is not appropriate for what they are expected to do.  We would like to see that they receive basic training in providing tourism information, basic training in security and they should be provided with a means of communication, i.e. radios.  In the areas where people put up their hands to make this a success like Hazyview and Graskop Gorge Lift, they were      incredibly useful and have been a great asset to tourism safety.  If you would like to become involved in the   training (at no cost) or would like to become part of a task team to give advice (we are meeting this afternoon at 14h00) please contact me directly.  Linda Grimbeek, Cell: 082 834 5687 or linda@klcbt.co.za
