It’s official! Warrior Ric will be the MC at KLCBT Awards
We have survived many setbacks in business, even since before Covid years. We endured the terrible loadshedding, the dead-stop of the world economy, geo politics and local politics spinning projections out of proportion! Now it is time to build! Not just to rebuild—to build! We have to dig deep and this is why our theme of 7 Cultures, 7 Colours for this year’s awards, is so appropriate. Let us take the inspiration from all the 7 cultures of the Lowveld and build a new, colourful Lowveld to honour and celebrate what we have!
The three big reveals:
The main sponsor for the event will be Pronto Computer Solutions—they are one of the many previous winners who experienced the value of receiving such an award. To be recognised by the reputable institution like KLCBT, a potential client will almost automatically put you on a shortlist as a preferred supplier, and it enables our smaller Lowveld companies to compete against the big national firms. In this day and age of AI and fake advertising, these things matter more than ever—this is why you should enter!
The theme will be 7 Cultures, 7 Colours, inspired by our 7 unique cultures in the Lowveld: English, Afrikaans, Portugues, Indian, Swazi, Shangaan and Agri-Culture. They are all very colourful cultures, but when we celebrate, we eat 7 colours too! We will showcase the food heritage from these cultures at the awards, but also the vibrant colours. This became quite a task—how do we mix all of this? I then realised that the first person who were inspired by all of these cultures, was the legendary Nukain Mabuza who painted the garden of stone near Low’s Creek. Copies of his works adorn the entrances of Barberton and parts of his paintings became tourism logo icons, like our own Kruger Lowveld giraffe! I always appreciated his work as an artist but when I realised that he managed to put all the cultures and their colours together in beautiful art pieces—it all just clicked and I found a renewed appreciation for his work, and new inspiration to revive the site as a tourism attraction.
And the MC: Yes, it will be none other than Warrior Ric! He agreed to be the MC for this year, with a lot of help from Pronto! Ric spent the day with us yesterday to address the media and the sponsors, followed by numerous interviews and a podcast with myself—it was simply electric! We all left energised and inspired! We cannot wait for 23 October, and the outfits!
But first, you need to enter! There is no public voting system, no interview panels, only telephonic surveys done with your real clients, your suppliers, your staff and we also take a look at your community service as well as your turnover growth. For the special categories, we look at the profile and impact of the project or the entity.
The entry form is one page, the fee is only R400. For this, we give you feedback on the survey and produce a short video of each finalist to flight at the night of the awards. This in itself, is excellent value for money! Come on!
