A hidden gem of the Kruger Lowveld, this pass is a pleasant alternative to Nelspruit/Mbombela off the N4.
Leaving the N4 at the massive Ngodwana paper mill, the road climbs roughly 15km through timber plantations to the charming village of Kaapsehoop before descending again through more timber plantation and farmland for a further 30km until it again joins the N4 in Nelspruit/Mbombela.
do not forget to stop at Kaapsehoop and explore the peaceful charm of the famous wild horses, history, architecture and the quirky restaurants.
Parts of the route are frequented by cloud and mist, which can be hazardous so caution is advised.
