Parade in Pilgrim’s on Saturday!

Pinnacle Parade procedures 2 September 2023 @ 10h00 for 10H30.

10H00 – Pipe Band, Moth, MMA, FOMMA, Visiting Veterans and other participants meet at the Memorial site Pilgrim’s Rest.

10h15 – Sentries and Flagman will form up at the Stone and flagpole.

10h20 – SM, will explain the procedures to all participants.

10h30 – SM, will bring the parade to attention, Pipe Band will lead the parade down to the memorial stone “forward march”.

SM – Moth Slow Joe – Attention!!

OB – Light the candle on the Tin Hat.

OB – Ask Moth Slow Joe to explain the symbol of the Tin Hat and the light of remembrance.

Symbol of the Thin Hat:

               The Tin Hat that saved so many Lives in times of war, now placed upon the table.

The light of Remembrance, which is placed upon the Tin Hat as a sign, that as the Tin Hat Protected us, so shall we protect the memory of fallen comrades.

10h40 – OB will welcome all the special guests: Pilgrims Rest Town Manager, Principal Museum and Human Resources, Moth Jimmy Frieslaar Old Bill Platinum Province, Moth Lowveld District, Visiting Moth from Marshall Shellhole Irene Pretoria, Moth, MMA, FOMMA, Visiting Veterans, Visitors.

11h03- OB call Moth Arthur Knoesen to remember and respect his family members named on the stone.

11h12 – Wreath Layers.

Pipe band to play “the lament flowers of the forest”.

11h20 – All on parade to form up and lay a poppy at the Memorial Stone.

11h25 – SM – Parade Attention! OB – Moth Salute

Playing of the “Last Post “– Flagman to lower the flag to half-mast.

OB – Announce that we will have a minute of silence.

District OB 

Laat ons, ons gesneuwelde broers onthou.

Hulle sal nie oud word soos ons wat agterbly ou word nie.

Ouderdom sal hulle nie vermoei nie, nog die jare hul verwerp nie.Met die ondergang van die son en in die oggend sal ons hulle onthou.

OB ask the SM to dismiss the parade into harmony.

Pipe Band will play Balmoral as everyone falls out.

All Moth, MMA, FOMMA and Veterans to have a Toast at the Memorial Stone.
