Oupa Pilane elected as Chairperson of Kruger Lowveld’s Regional Tourism Committee
After a great farewell speech delivered by Oupa Pilange at the recent KLCBT Annual General Meeting, he pledged to serve the organisation as a member in any capacity that the leadership saw fit when his term as President ends in August 2018.
KLCBT’s constitution allows for a President to serve only one term of two years, which usually presents a challenging handover to an incoming President who has to learn all of the details of the organisation’s work and ambitious goals for the region.
Little did Pilane know that only a few days after his farewell speech, he would be put firmly back in the saddle of the KLCBT’s executive team as the new Chairperson of the Kruger Lowveld Regional Tourism Committee.
Pilane was unanimously chosen as Chairperson of this committee for the next term of two years, during the first meeting of the new committee on Wednesday last week.
He will be supported by two vice-chairpersons – Lisa Sheard, Executive Director of Tourism at KLCBT and Sizile Ndlovu from the Bushbuckridge Local Tourism Organisation.
