Mpumalanga Environmental Initiative (MEI) is a community Non-Profit organization based in the rural township of Msogwaba in Mbombela. The Organization was established by local members of the youth, who were concerned about the severe global and local deterioration of the natural environment as well as the imminent environmental neglect within and around residential community areas.

We believe that Climate change and urbanization have destroyed the eco-system. As concerned locals, we took it in our stride to attend to the matter as soon as possible as there could be a further damage that will impact local tourism, life in the biosphere as well as the our very own livelihoods.

Through our operations, we seek to establish and maintain sustainable environmental protection activities within the community as well as engage in various sustainable farming projects.

Our vision is to become leaders of the necessary environmental revolution, yet to impact our province and country

Our mission is that we are committed to creating a sustainable future and to improving the social, economic well-being of the community, through environmental preservation and food security.
