Level 1 Regulations revised to clarify 100% accommodation occupancy permitted

With the recent amendment of Level 1 Regulations, issued by the Ministry of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs, there had been some confusion regarding the approved occupancy levels for accommodation establishments. Click here to view an article in Tourism Update to this effect.

The Ministry has issued amended regulations today – dated 17 December – clarifying that accommodation establishments, including hotels, lodges, B&Bs, timeshare facilities, resorts and guesthouses are allowed to operate at full capacity of the available rooms for accommodation, with patrons observing a distance of at least one and a half metres from each other when in common spaces.
