Even more good news – about the DAM!

Our Premier announced last Thursday, that a final selection of the site of the new dam for the area has been made. It will indeed be in the De Kaap river in the De Kaap Valley (between Hilltop Pass and Low’s Creek). The approval process will now commence and will take an estimated 4 years, then another 4 years to build the dam which, by the looks of it, will be the 3rd biggest dam in SA! This long awaited approval again comes after 13 years of lobbying. The Crocodile River system is already over subscribed and farmers in the Onderberg are under restrictions from early Winter as a norm already. With the staggering population growth of Mbombela and surrounding areas, this is welcome news.
