What is new in the SA Budget and on the tax front?
Henrie Pieters from Stabilis navigated through the budget and tax changes, shortly after the annual budget speech. As predicted,   nothing worth mentioning has changed in the budget or traditional tax measures, however we should note the following:
Increase excise duties on alcohol and tobacco… and vape (yes).
No increase on the fuel levies, but there 11c and 14c increase on the carbon levy per liter of petrol and diesel respectively.
The two-pot retirement reform will kick in from September.
Plastic bag and the incandescent light bulb levy will also increase.
