Successful conclusion on Nkomazi Municipal Water tariffs

During a meeting held yesterday at the Nkomazi Local Municipality, it was resolved that the water tariffs for 2024/24 as published in the Provincial Gazette and implemented since 1 July 2024, will be      amended.  Following a legal approval process that is estimated to be concluded by end of next month, and if approved by council, the final tariffs will be significantly reduced from those published and       implemented.  Once approved, the tariffs will be adjusted and the charges amended retroactively on the accounts, so rate payers will have a credit due after the adjustment.  Meanwhile we urge you to        continue to pay accounts as presented until the adjustments are done.  We are extremely thankful to the municipality for their response to the issue and for accommodating us so gracefully.
