State of the Water Crisis

While Mbombela is preparing for a possible worst case scenario, citizens remain largely uninformed about the gravity of the situation and the devastating impact we may face.  As you may know that our main sources of water in Mbombela are Inyaka dam, Kwena dam and Lomati dam are currently at all-time low and this is obviously posing a risk to households, business and development.  The City is in the process of ensuring that proper monitoring tools are in place such as imposing restrictions, enforcement and penalties to non-compliant customers and the implementation of drought relief tariffs to name just a few.  The ultimate goal is for all stakeholders to own the realities of climate change in the area and make an effort to SAVE WATER, STOP LEAKS, USE GREY WATER, SPREAD THE MESSAGE AND IMPLEMENT PUNITIVE MEASURES IN OUR PLACES OF BUSINESS.
