Safety issues under the spotlight – KLCBT and MEC collaborates

It is not surprising that we have seen a significant   reduction in complaints from tourists that were asked for bribes by traffic officials.  The MEC of Safety,    Security and Community Liaison confirmed during our meeting that several individuals were prosecuted or     dismissed following the numerous complains we have seen prior to Covid-19.

The MEC explained the huge shortfall in budget to address the road safety and tourist safety issues.  It will require private sector intervention if this is to be addressed as it should be.  A complete list of requirements will be discussed in the near future.

While we were at the provincial government buildings we also witnessed the delivery of the brand new pothole filling trucks procured by Dept. of Works.  This is excellent news.  This means repairs of potholes on provincial roads will now   commence.
