Online: Fighting Corruption, promoting world trade

Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala is director general of the World Trade Organization and a global finance expert, economist and international development professional. She served two terms as Nigeria’s finance minister, a short term as foreign minister and has over 25 years’ experience at the World Bank, including as managing director, operations. Dr Okonjo-Iweala will be in conversation with Ann Bernstein, CDE’s executive director. The conversation will focus on Dr Okonjo-Iweala’s role as a global reformer: fighting corruption and promoting world trade.

For over 25 years CDE has influenced policy in South Africa’s democracy. We have established ourselves as a unique policy think tank and prominent public ‘voice’ promoting enterprise and development in South Africa and emerging markets. We have built a wide network throughout the country and with leading global experts and think tanks, especially in democratic developing countries.
