on the Panorama route

The MTPA as the management authority of the government owned sites on the Panorama Route and KLCBT met early yesterday morning to discuss areas of        collaboration and infrastructural changes at Mpumalanga sites.

While MTPA had already commenced some of the maintenance work, which was already in the pipeline, the two      entities will also immediately conduct a detailed assessment of all affected sites, starting with the Panorama Route.  The two entities will keep the industry, and the    public informed on the progress and the first update will be provided in 10 working days from the date of the meeting.

MTPA and KLCBT, in collaboration with strategic stakeholders, have worked very hard to promote tourism in the Province and have solved a number of challenges such as tourism safety and roadside    corruption.

Members of the media were invited by KLCBT Special Attaché, Mr Oupa Pilane to join him and colleagues from the two entities on a tour of the sites starting at 09h00 this morning.  KLCBT and MTPA have undertaken to organise another tour at an opportune time when the            assessment is finalized and plans are laid out for the immediate, medium and long term.

“We are excited to share a collective   vision for the sites and to work together towards an accelerated approach to any and all possible  upgrades and             revitalization of the sites.”
