Massive Lowveld security project and programmes fast-tracked!

As the crime rate spiked in recent months, the project was initially created to ensure the safety of tourists in Kruger Lowveld, but since then the stakeholders quickly realized that safety is for everybody.  Since security the Numbi Road, KLCBT has been           instrumental in fundraising, implementing and          managing  a massive     district-wide security       initiative which includes deployment of cameras in all the towns, monitoring, patrols and even drones.  During the week, a        committee comprising several Government          stakeholders, together with KLCBT have taken a     decision to give official letters of support KLCBT to do this and to raise and manage funds for the project.  This will enable KLCBT to look wider for funds, i.e. embassies, etc.  TBCSA (TOMSA) was the first out of the block to contribute R5 million of the initial R15   million required.  We wish to thank also Ehlanzeni  District Municipality, MTPA, City of Mbombela, KMIA, Sabie Chamber, Mdluli Lodge, Hi-Tech White River and many other donors who have joined the           programme during the past couple of weeks.  The  project is already yielding massive results!  Any amount will add value to the programme!  Farm watch groups are also joining in to collect funding for       cameras in their areas, KLCBT will also assist with administration thereof where necessary.  During the past few weeks, cameras went up at Casterbridge, Airport intersection and Sabie.  A lot more to follow!
