Let’s Get Ready for the US Source Market

The Americans are coming! Despite the news
that The US State Department has updated its “Do Not Travel” guidance
to about 80% of countries worldwide (including South Africa), Americans are
keen to travel. The US vaccine programme is well underway, leading to an
increased interest in international travel – and United Airlines has just
announced that it will be resuming flights to South Africa in June.
But what does this mean for local operators and establishments?
Join SATIB’s panel of experts on Thursday, 6 May 2021 @ 16:00 as they discuss this
important source market and how we can best prepare to welcome them once again.
Marcelo Novais, General Manager of Ker & Downey Africa, North America DMC,
Jim Holden, a US-based Independent Safari Consultant; Stefan de Beer,
Corporate, Commercial and Contract Attorney at Martin & de Beer Inc. and
Adam Riley, Founding Member Rockjumper, will discuss the following questions (and
more):
- What are some of the non-negotiable requirements for US travellers when booking travel, tours and accommodation?
- What are their main pain points and concerns?
- What are the risks and opportunities for tourism establishments?
- How can local establishments cater for these changing demands without putting themselves at risk?
