Leisure accommodation is open for people of the same province

The Ministry of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs has promulgated new Regulations, as mentioned by the Minister of Tourism in her address to media on Thursday 30 July 2020. Please click here to view the document.

The amendments that are important to note from the previous: 

  • Every person is confined to his or her place of residence from 22H00 until 04H00 daily
  • Hotels, lodges, bed and breakfasts, timeshare facilities and resorts and guest houses can be opened for persons utilizing such facilities for intra-provincial leisure purposes
  • Tourist attractions must remain closed except for intra-provincial private self-drive excursion activities and guided tours
  • No changes have been made to short-term home-sharing, letting, leasing or rental
