2019’s New Award Categories:

To keep up with the trends and characteristics of what makes a business successful in modern times, we have added a few unique new awards in 2019.  They are the awards for Customer Service, Social Investment / Philanthropy, Company Health & Wellness,  Best Township / Rural Enterprise, and lastly the Young Entrepreneur Ward for entrepreneurs younger than 35 years of age. 

The Adjudication Process:

After an extensive adjudication process, the finalists and winners are selected.  The process includes telephonic surveys with clients and suppliers of the business, followed by an evaluation of their financial growth and corporate social investment.  The specialist categories are adjudicated by panels of experts in those fields.  There are no personal interviews with competitors and no public voting system.  We choose the best business on all levels, awards are given based on merit, not popularity of perception of success.

An evening of “Fire & Ice”

Celebrating the 21st Birthday of KLCBT in 2019, we thought of something to describe the incredible journey which KLCBT has taken since 1998.  There were good times, bad times, uncertain times and incredible times, and as unpredictable as the weather… this brought us to the  theme of Fire and Ice for this special celebration.  The dress code will remain Black Tie / Traditional, but the décor of the venue, the trophies and the venue will be inspired by this theme.  The trophies will be made by Ngwenya Glass in Swaziland and the menu will be … smoking, freezing, sizzling and flaming, celebrating our Lowveld produce.

Bookings for this incredible event is open and tickets sell at R495 per person or R4950 per table of 10.  We are currently producing short introductory videos of each finalist which will be cued at the evening before each award is handed over.  We are going to dance the night away with the popular band, Rockin’ Down the Highway.  It’s going to be a party!!
