KLCBT’s intervention in protests at the Kruger Gate

Traffic into the Kruger National Park via the Kruger Gate has been           disrupted during the past week due to a nearby community’s issue about a road.  Members on the route reached out to KLCBT yesterday.

We have activated Mbombela’s Community Safety services to clear the road so traffic can flow again, thank you very much to them for helping.

We have requested Public Order Police to deploy and stay on site and to get support to Mkhuhlu SAPS to ensure the road is not blocked again.

Community members assisted with supplying whatsapp and Facebook messages which identified the instigator and we handed the evidence to SAPS Provincial as well as the MEC of Public Works who are openly   threatened in the messages.  We advised him to open a case and file an interdict against this person to stop instigating  the blocking of roads.

Meanwhile all available forces will concentrate to keep the Phabeni Gate open at all costs to ensure the Kruger Park remain accessible to visitors.
