It was ‘showtime’ for Kruger Lowveld Tourism
Kruger Lowveld Tourism recently participated in Meetings Africa, TravelPeople Connections and the Caravan Show to promote the Kruger Lowveld region to travel buyers, tour operators and the public.
Meetings Africa (23-25 Feb) at the Sandton Convention Centre is considered Africa’s leading business events trade show for MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions / Events). Kruger Lowveld Tourism participated as a destination marketing partner, under the MTPA banner. Our participation generated leads for corporate retreats and incentive travel in our region, strengthened partnerships with tour operators and conference organisers and increased awareness of the region being more than just a safari add-on but a fully-fledged business events and incentive destination—authentic, accessible and unforgettable.
Participation at TravelPeople enabled KLT to promote regional tourism products to travel agents, build partnerships with tour operators packaging Kruger itineraries and to importantly provide updates on tourism experiences in the Kruger Lowveld. Such workshops are integral in strengthening domestic travel trade relationships and improving product knowledge among travel agents.
We also participated in the consumer-focused Caravan Show in Midrand, which attracts outdoor and adventure travellers interested in road trips, camping and caravanning holidays. Engaging with visitors to the show highlighted the Kruger Lowveld as a self-drive destination, resulted in direct bookings and travel planning inquiries from domestic tourists.
Through this bumper to bumper week of participation in these platforms, we aimed to Strengthen the destination brand of the Kruger Lowveld; Attract both international and domestic tourists; Support tourism businesses in the region; and Increase tourism arrivals and economic activity.
