Initial hick-ups with reporting noise pollution now hopefully resolved

Update, the City established a 24-hour line for all complaints and emergencies which should be used for the purpose of noise complaints 086 162 6623.

During the past weekend, the noise in the Nelspruit CBD was probably worse than ever.  It gave us the opportunity to make ample use of the dedicated 24 hour line to file complaints.  This number is the same as the fire brigade which does not get that many calls, so it is ideal for the municipality to make use of this          resource.  Unfortunately some people manning the phone were eager to pass the problem to the police, etc.  After discussions with the GM, he initiated disciplinary action, as well as   investigations into the noise complaints that were   received during the weekend.  Some I forwarded to him which I copied from Facebook, and some people called me directly.  So let’s give them a chance to sort it out in the right way.  Please use this number is     013 753 3331 but please call when the noise is      happening, not the next day.  If the noise is repeated, call again and insist on getting an OB number after each call.  If you lay a complaint and do not get a   satisfactory response, please contact us to take it up with the manager.
