Increased security deployed on Kruger Roads

While the Kruger Lowveld worked hard to restore safety for our visitors on all our major tourism routes, a project which has been very successful and we take pride in the fact that we are maintaining our excellent safety record, we have been lobbying to introduce additional security on the Kruger Gate Road as a precaution.  Patrols are conducted on a 24 hour basis by Taysec Security on this route for a period of one year, starting today, thanks to   support from Tourism Business Council of SA.

Please advise all international visitors to make use of our 24-hour         Emergency Tourism Hotline in case of any distress, 066 3000 991, and to observe our recommended tips for safe travels:

Use common sense anywhere, eg do not walk alone, wear expensive items;

Do not drive after dark NEVER;  Adhere to road signs and speed limits;

Plan your route in advance, do not rely on GPS in rural areas;

If you get pulled over by police, remain cooperative and never pay cash to a traffic officer or a police officer, pay fines at a magistrate’s court.  If cash is demanded at the roadside, call 066 3000 991.

ALWAYS keep a copy of your documents saved in the cloud or with family.
