Iconic attractions under MTPA management remain closed today

The tourism industry is furious and disappointed that iconic sites have been closed now for a number of days, while MTPA’s management is now negotiating with unions. At first the unions denied involvement in the strike and it was made out that individuals are the instigators. Since KLCBT stated that we will open criminal cases of industrial sabotage against these people, the unions have now come to the table. We are hoping it is to assist MTPA to open a channel of engagement. We are awaiting confirmation of an urgent appointment and speedy resolution of this issue. This entire debacle is just proving the point that these attractions should be placed under a private sector management. This is one of the advocacies that KLCBT is driving very hard. It will ensure cleanliness, efficiency, great new offerings, and most of all, job and small business opportunities.
