We provide homebased care for people who have been diagnosed with a terminal illness.
The services offered, in the privacy of the homes of those in need, are the following:
- professional care to anyone suffering from a terminal disease irrespective of race, colour, creed or ability to pay;
- provides methods of pain control and other symptomatic distress;
- provides counselling for emotional and spiritual needs to patients and families;
- provides bereavement counselling for families after death of a loved one;
Hospice of White River believes that everybody has the right to live out their last days with dignity, the ability to choose their own treatment and to be free from pain. This motivates Hospice of White River to apply for assistance, as it provides an essential service in the community through programmes such as Home Based Care, and various Training and Awareness Campaigns within the community. The numbers of the sick and needy are growing at an alarming rate and therefore it is imperative that Hospice of White River constantly upgrades and improves its facilities to accommodate this need.
