Have your say on the draft proposals and amendments to the Licensing Exemption of alternative energy

Minster Gwede Mantashe has called for public comment, input or objection at the link below on a draft amendment to the Electricity Regulation Act.

The draft proposes amendments to the Licensing Exemption and Registration Notice (embedded generation) including;

  • registration with the regulator (NERSA) is required for any electrical generation up to 10MW (solar, wind, gas, diesel or petrol)
  • a licence is required for capacity above 10MW
  • exemption of certain requirements.
