HL Hall and Sons Properties (Pty) Ltd was registered in 1970 with the aim of developing the Group’s real estate opportunities. The move into property development came in the 1980’s when the government and local authority requested land for the development of a future industrial area for Nelspruit. This began in the development of the Industrial Township of Rocky Drift between Nelspruit and White River. Following the initial establishment and involvement in property development in the 1980’s, there was a dormant period during the late eighties. This was followed by renewed focus and activity in the early nineties with the development of Halls Gateway to the Lowveld and Riverside node. A catalyst for this renewed interest cam via the choice of Nelspruit as the Provincial capital of Mpumalanga and the provincial government establishment of the Riverside Park precinct measuring 70 ha, as well as the Riverside Industrial Park Township measuring approximately 90ha. We have been involved in a number of joint development projects such as Riverside Mall, Riverside Industrial Park ( including the balance of Rocky drift Industrial property) Riverside Gardens, and Garden Pavilion residential developments and Riverside Auto Centre as well as the development of Riverside Value Mart, 9000m2 retail centre. Halls Properties also undertake the property and services management role of the Group’s leased assets, both residential and commercial, and the company’s utilities.
