Do not underestimate African Markets

According to a recent article in Tourism Update, tourism arrivals from     Ghana and Kenya are soaring, boosted by reciprocal visa waivers.  This has turned a spotlight onto the under-recognized value offered by African markets.  This is important for both tourism, South African exporters and trade.  As other African economies develop and it becomes easier for them to travel to South Africa, markets are opening.  Keep track of the arrival trends to spot emerging tourism markets and emerging trading partners, even investors.  There are a multitude of shows and expo’s available to  engage our African counterparts, be on the lookout for those.  We need to stop thinking of Africa as one market – explore individual countries and the ease of doing business in your particular industry, i.e. Ghana and Kenya.
