MANAGING DIRECTOR: MR. BAREND MARITZ DRY (Caz)
Caz Dry obtained his B.Proc. Degree from the University of Pretoria in 1990. He entered into an article contract with the firm SMIT & CRONJE ATTORNEYS in Pretoria during 1990 and served his articles as such and gained experience in the fields of Conveyancing, Company & Close Corporation registrations, Magistrate’s and High Court litigation until 1993.
In 1993 Mr. Dry was appointed as Legal Advisor, and eventually Secretary (Head of Administration) to the Eastvaal Regional Services Council (now Gert Sibande District Council) and obtained vast experience in Development Law, Municipal and Regional Services Council functions and Municipal Law in general.
In 1997 Mr. Dry was appointed as Director Land Administration to the Provincial Department of Local Government, Housing and Land Administration, where as Head of Land
Administration he gained extensive experience in Local Government, Housing and Land Administration related matters over a nine year period as part of Senior Management.
Mr. Dry was inter alia responsible and Head of all Town Planning matters in the province and especially Housing matters.
During his term in office, the Mpumalanga Province, in conjunction with National Department of Land Affairs initiated a pilot project under the championship of Mr Dry to establish a procedural manual for Tenure Upgrading of land rights of various R188 and R293 townships throughout the province. The total number of stands transferred through the process is in excess of 200 000 stands.
During 2000 Mr. Dry was appointed by the Provincial Legislature as Chairman of the Mpumalanga Development Tribunal. Mr. Dry is currently Co-Chairperson of the Mpumalanga Development Tribunal.
Mr. Dry served, during his term in office, as member of the Provincial State Land Disposal Committee, an advisory committee to the National Minister of Land Affairs.
Mr. Dry furthermore acted as special advisor to the National Land Claims Commissioner as well as Regional Land Claims Commissioner on various claims.
As specialist in Development Law and Planning, Mr. Dry was a member of a Three-man Committee responsible for the drafting of National Legislation for Land Development, inter alia The Development Facilitation Act and Regulations, and various other amendments to assist in promoting Land Development.
He furthermore chaired and appeared on behalf of Government as well as private developers, in various Development applications of Planning Tribunals in an extensive field of land development applications.
Mr. Dry returned to private practice on 1 June 2006.

Mr. Jandre Joubert, who has been an article clerk at the firm since July 2019 until July 2021 was admitted as an Attorney on 4 October 2021 and has joined the firm as a junior attorney on a permanent basis. Mr. Joubert deals with all litigation matters with Right of Appearance at the Magistrate Courts.
