African Women Association was established 2017 with the mission to strengthen livelihood and empowerment for young women, prioritizing the vulnerable populations. The organization is operating in Nelspruit, Ehlanzeni district. The organization saw a gap within the greater community as key and vulnerable communities are mostly excluded and stigmatized. We established the organization to cut across the widespread notion of stigma, discrimination and social exclusion of key populations by strengthening mental health, creating livelihood opportunities and giving them a voice. Since its inception the organization has serviced 64 service users. We believe that our cause of action is providing a sense of empowerment, while we look to expand with local cause of actions for referral and a united front in creating a table of advancement for young women. Through advocacy and outreach our team works tirelessly to contribute their part to the greater good
