A big win against the latest mining application near Marloth Park

The court granted an application by Afriforum          yesterday, to effectively stop the application of      Manzolwandle Investments to mine coal near Marloth Park.  The application was lodged in 2019, after which it failed due to several shortcomings and heavy      resistance from the residents, farmers and business owners, including the Kruger National Park and MTPA.  They then appealed to the Minister of Forestry,      Fisheries and Environmental Affairs to review their application.  She approved the review application, but her decision to do so was based on “information that does not reflect the truth” according to Afriforum’s Lambert de Klerk.  Yesterday the court set aside this decision.  Thank you to all who made this possible.
