Treasury releases report on late and non-payment by Government

The purpose of this Annual Report is to furnish stakeholders with           information regarding the extent to which national and provincial            departments adhere to the legislative requirements to settle suppliers     invoices within 30 days.  Additionally, it will offer a trend analysis of late payments and outline common reasons recorded for late and non-payment of invoices.  Treasury will also report on initiatives taken to assist            institutions in improving compliance with legislative requirements to pay suppliers within 30 days.

Zoning straight to Mpumalanga (page 18), our province is second best overall with 1245 invoices paid after 30 days.  These make out less than 1% of total spend.  Mpumalanga had only 1 invoice unpaid (ranked highest performer), at a value of R9,8 million.

The report shows a drastic regression of late payments overall and we  encourage members to use the portal for assistance with late payments.
