| Trans African Concessions (Pty) Ltd (TRAC) is a privately-owned company that manages the 570km-long TRAC N4 Route from the Solomon Mahlangu Drive Interchange in Tshwane (formerly Pretoria), Gauteng, to the Maputo Port in Mozambique. The TRAC N4 Route is a Build, Operate and Transfer (BOT) toll road for which TRAC has a 30-year concession with the South African and Mozambican national roads agencies – SANRAL and ANE respectively – signed in 1997. The concession contract focuses on the development, management and maintenance of the route in a bid to stimulate and facilitate trade and investment in three key economical regions – Gauteng, Mpumalanga and Mozambique. TRAC’s development and maintenance of the TRAC N4 Route is possible through the funds generated from toll fees from the six toll plazas TRAC runs along the route. As part of its support to the road users of the TRAC N4 Route, TRAC offers a free roadside assistance service known as TRACAssist. This service is managed by the TRAC 24-hour Helpdesk and is available free of charge to all N4 road users 24/7/365 in both South Africa and Mozambique. |
