Passports or SA Identity Documents to be provided at Park gates

Please ensure that your clients take their passport (if not SA citizens) or their passport or identity document (if they are SA citizens) when they go the Kruger National Park, as these now have to be provided at the gate. A valid form of identity document, such as passports, ID’s or birth certificates also need to be provided for children.

Positive identification documents are an integral part of the park’s visitor management. As its tariff structure is divided into three categories – SA citizens/residents, SADAC citizens and people of the world – the documents are needed for gate officials to determine which tariff to apply.

New pre-booking feature for day visitors

South African National Parks (SANParks) has included a new pre-booking feature for day visitors in its online bookings portal.

The new function enables users to pre-book their day visitor park permits for various time slots for several days at a time, alleviating waiting in the queue at the park gates.

Guests are able to book a permit/permits online for specific timeslots, such as entry from gate opening time to two hours after the gate has opened; two to four hours from the gate opening time; or four or more hours from the gate opening time.

Previously, advanced day visitor bookings could only be done for the park by contacting the reservations office.
