How to become involved in the leadership of KLCBT
The Kruger Lowveld Chamber of Business and Tourism (KLCBT) urges its members and other interested parties to become involved in the leadership of the organisation and will be holding elections for committee, board and tourism committee members in April.
The details of each category, how and when voting will take place and other relevant information is contained in each section below.
Nominations for Regional Committee Members of KLCBT
Committee member elections will take place at the during the KLCBT’s Annual pre-AGM Roadshows in March, when members of each town in the Kruger Lowveld will select one representative from general business and one representative from tourism. They will be the liaison between the towns businesses and KLCBT.
Business owners and chief executive officers (CEOs) or retired business owners and CEOs who are knowledgeable and well-connected are the ideal candidates. Apart from being a member of the KLCBT, there are no sponsorship or funding obligations.
Members of the committee attend one two-hour meeting a month. If they volunteer for a certain sub-committee or task team they may have to attend ad hoc meetings as and when required.
Nominations to serve on the board of KLCBT
Elections for board members will take place at the first meeting of the newly elected regional committees, when each of the two committees will select a chair and vice chair who will automatically sit on the board. In addition to these, each committee will also elect two captains of industry which are not on the committee, to serve on the board for a term of two years.
