Nominate your favourite company to receive an award
How many times do you receive exceptional customer service or some business impresses you to such an extent, that you think to yourself – They deserve an award for this!
Now is your chance to make it happen for real. The new format of the Annual Awards of the Kruger Lowveld Chamber of Business and Tourism (KLCBT) allows members of the public to nominate their absolute favourite businesses to be considered for a KLCBT Award. “While businesses can still enter to compete, as they would usually do, we wanted to broaden the field to stretch beyond our usual reach – to allow companies who really are deserving of these highly prestigious awards, to be part of this year’s event”, says Zelda Wright, Public Relations & Events Manager at KLCBT.
“Think of the one company (or more), you have dealt with during the past 12 months, who really should receive an award for whatever reason, and send us an e-mail to make your nomination. Please let us have the name of the company, the award you think they should be considered for (optional) and most important, the reason why you feel they should receive an award. E-mail your nominations to zelda@klcbt.co.za. After this, we will contact these companies and let them complete the normal entry form to allow us to have all the necessary information for adjudication purposes. Nominations will be treated as confidential. We will not tell anybody who nominated them.”
The general business and tourism awards will remain, Small- Medium & Large Business Enterprise Awards, as well as the Tourism SMME- and Large Tourism Enterprise Awards. The old favourites, the Community Service Award, Innovation Award and Presidential Awards will also be given again in 2019. The new categories are: Customer Service Award (by popular demand), Social Investment / Philanthropy Award to be given to a company or individual; Company Health & Wellness Award; Township / Rural Enterprise Award and the Young Entrepreneur Award (for the below 35s). The existing Entrepreneur Award (for new businesses) will be known as the Emerging Entrepreneur award, while the Environmental Award will from now on be known as the Sustainability Award.
We have asked Zelda for a “sneak preview” of this year’s awards: “Contestants and guests at this year’s KLCBT Annual Awards Banquet are in for a very exciting, renewed event.” About the theme and décor and menu, her lips remained sealed and we will have to wait see… but we do know there will be a lot of dancing and celebrating! KLCBT COO Linda Grimbeek added, “We have revised the categories to include those which are more relevant in the modern business environment and to our community. We will be presenting only 15 awards this year, which makes this event and the awards highly prestigious and a true honour to receive such an award”, she said.
The KLCBT awards has become over the last 18 years a well-known and well-attended glamorous event, with the aim to celebrate excellence in business, tourism and community service. The event will be combined with the KLCBT’s 21st birthday celebrations and is set to take place on 1 November 2019, at Emnotweni Arena. Bookings have opened at R495 per ticket (the price has remained the same for the past three years).
