Moeletsi Mbeki’s presentation – What went wrong with our political economy?

What is wrong with the political economy of South Africa?  Moeletsi Mbeki explains how we could fuel our future by slashing government wages.  His very interesting slides indicates the difference between working hours as well as the difference in salaries between private sector and government and how it came about.  It also shows how we compare with other developing countries.  The presentation   concludes with a very valid comparison with South Korea and then finally the Gross capital formation as a percentage of GDP in South Africa versus similar economies.  South Africa went down to 13,6% in 2021 compared to others running over 20—30%.
