Profile
The core nature of our business at Huis Betlehem is:
To help children in need, which is already in the statuary process conducted by Social Workers as prescribed by Children’s Act 805, 2005. These children need to be in a “Place of Safety” for a period of time until the court decides how these children must be handled (e.g. Foster care, place back to parents or in a children’s home)
The two house, on in White River and another in Nelspruit host 6 to 8 children each under the supervision of a Social Worker, but with House parents. These House parents provide an environment for these children to be loved and cared for.
The key competencies and areas of expertise will reside with the qualified and registered social workers, responsible for the wellbeing of the children in the houses. These actions can only be conducted by registered social workers and not by the employees or the Trustees of Huis Betlehem Trust. The feeding area (companies) for Huis Betlehem includes mainly the CMR, Childline, Child Welfare as well as the Department of Social Welfare.
