The KLCBT Annual Awards is a showcase of Excellence, rewarding outstanding business achievements, sound business practices and recognising businesses and individuals who truly make a difference within the Kruger Lowveld Community.

This 17th instalment held on Friday the 13th only spelled good luck as everybody who are finalists in this competition are certainly winners.

The competition is extremely tough and every business announced as a finalist can certainly be proud of their business achievement.  For this reason, a 30 second promotional video of each and every finalist was screened at the Black Tie event attended by 400 guests dressed to the nines.

With only 15 awards given every year, this event is highly prestigious and the only one of its kind in the region.  Only 10 of the awards are contested, which businesses entered for, and after an extensive adjudication process, the finalists and winners are selected. The process includes telephonic surveys with clients and suppliers of the business, followed by an evaluation of their financial growth and corporate social investment.  Surprisingly, the entry form is only two pages long and all the hard work is done by KLCBT, not the contestant.

The remaining awards given, are the five special awards.  There are no finalists for these and the recipients did not know that they would receive an award.  This year, awards were given for the Business Personality, Tourism Personality, Philanthropy Award, Leadership Award and finally die President’s Award.

The President’s Award was introduced only 3 years ago and goes to a recipient that has made an unrivalled contribution to the Kruger Lowveld economy over several generations.  Another two awards presented for the first time this year, were the Innovation in Tourism Award and the “Webbie” Award.
