For the sixth year in succession Kruger Lowveld Tourism took at stand at Indaba, South Africa’s premier tourism trade show.
The show is held annually in Durban and took place this year from 8 to 10 May.
Our 90m2 stand was the largest Kruger Lowveld has taken at the show. As with previous years, we invited member products to join us on the stand, on a pay-to-play basis. Twenty-five members joined us.
Feedback from stand sharers was generally positive. Those that made appointments before the show felt that it was productive and would hopefully convert into future bookings from new and existing tour operators.
Several new members joined us on the stand for the first time and most felt that the cost saving benefits and marketing under the Kruger Lowveld banner were advantageous. One of the region’s newest attractions, Graskop Gorge Lift Co, was on the stand and attracted much attention from the travel trade and brought quite a number of visitors to the stand.
Due to the late appointment of the event organiser, there were delays in stand allocations, diary opening, etc., which may have affected the number of quality buyers attending the event but did not detract from the overall “Indaba vibe”.
With the new branding, Africa’s Travel Indaba can only get bigger and better and we can be sure that Kruger Lowveld will be back again in 2019 to showcase the region.
